Using The Launching Leash

IMPORTANT: Please ensure the Launching Leash is securely attached before each throw! Due to the nature of being removable, the tape can become worn over time and may need to be replaced. We include spare hook-and-loop tape with every Launching Leash so you can throw farther, for longer!

Step 1: Prepare Your Hook and Loop Tape

Start by picking up the hook-and-loop tape included with your launching leash kit. This flexible fastener is designed to securely attach the leash to your toy without interfering with play.

The hook side (rough texture) grips onto the loop side (soft texture) to create a snug, adjustable hold.

Make sure both pieces are clean and free of debris for best adhesion.

This attachment method allows for quick setup and easy removal, ideal for switching between just the toy or adjusting placement.

Step 2: Pinch the End of the Tape

At one end of the hook-and-loop tape, gently pinch the tip between your fingers. This creates a small fold or tab that makes it easier to grip, wrap, and secure around the toy.

A slight pinch helps guide the tape into position and gives you better control during attachment.

This step also helps prevent twisting or bunching, ensuring a smooth and secure fit.

Once the end is pinched and ready, you’re set to begin wrapping the tape around the toy.

Step 3: Thread the Tape Through the Toy

Pick up your toy and choose one of the designated attachment holes. This is where the hook-and-loop tape will anchor the launching leash securely.

Hold the toy steady and gently guide the pinched end of the tape through the hole.

You may need to wiggle or fold the tape slightly to help it pass through; this is normal and ensures a snug fit.

Step 4: Secure the Tape to the Leash Clip

Once the hook-and-loop tape is threaded through the toy’s attachment hole, guide the loose end through the clip at the end of the launching leash.

The clip acts as an anchor point, keeping the leash connected to the toy during play.

Thread the tape through the clip slowly and smoothly to avoid twisting or bunching.

You can adjust the length or tension of the tape before securing it.

This step ensures a secure connection between the toy and the leash, allowing for safe, controlled launching and retrieval.

Step 5: Secure the Connection

Once the tape is threaded through both the toy and the leash clip, slide the clip upward until it rests snugly against the toy. This helps stabilize the attachment point and keeps the leash aligned during play.

Bring the two ends of the hook-and-loop tape together, wrapping them so the rough (hook) side meets the soft (loop) side.

Press firmly to ensure a secure hold; the tape should grip tightly without slipping or bunching.

This final step locks everything in place.

Step 6: Position the Clip

Once the hook-and-loop tape is pressed firmly together, slide the leash clip so it sits at the centre of the joined section. This helps distribute tension evenly and keeps the toy balanced during play.

Centring the clip ensures a stable connection and prevents the toy from tilting or twisting when launched.

Adjust gently until the clip rests securely in the middle of the taped area.

Give it a gentle tug to check the connection before play begins.

With the clip in place, your launching leash is ready for action.

Step 7: Launch!

Launch your Muzzle Mate and let the fun begin!

Remember to let go of the leash - it is designed to travel with your Muzzle Mate!

Ensure the Launching Leash is secure before each throw by squeezing together the hook-and-loop tape.

The hook-and-loop tape can become worn and less effective over time - especially in damp conditions. Replace it with one of the spares we have provided to keep the fun going for longer!

Never throw or launch your Muzzle Mate directly towards your furry friend (or other humans) - safety first!
